http://pascal.vanhecke.info/2005/10/04/top-sources-of-delicious-links/

http://www.nivi.com/blog/article/optimize-your-attention-stream )

The mentioned issue of screenscraping versus API has been discussed several
times here (as wel as the safety of giving out your password probably).

[delicious-discuss] Tags and more tag forms

2005-10-04 Thread Chris Fry

So I've been lurking on this list for a while and thought I would finally post.
I use delicious a lot and like tagging but I've been wondering about some
enhancements to tags form:

1) Do you ever get frustrated with the way multiple word tags are mashed up
together?

It seems weird to me that new york becomes newyork, web 2.0 becomes web2.0,
what if tags were input as comma delimited strings instead of spaces. Then
we could put in New York, San Francisco, Web 2.0 . It would make creating
bigram statistics on tags easier.

2) What about namespaces? It might be nice to have something like xml
namespaces in a tag:

like de:post versus journal:post . This would give you a way to disamiguate
tags in different contexts and wouldn't be too hard to implement.

3) Since tags are attributes or categories of an item what if they actually
were attribute values?

Instead of tagging something as 'green' or 'red' you could do color='red'.

Thoughts?

-Chris
