There is a really great thread here with an applescript that will allow you to
export stuff from Yojimbo and retain its tag information as a spotlight
comment.
My question is whether you could do this in reverse. In other words, import an
item into Yojimbo and take any Spotlight comments
Anyone else experiencing trouble in Leopard? Here Y. is acting very
strange. For example, I can't open preferences.

Should be possible. If you replace the contents of the first if not
chooseTagsFromList then block of your import script with the
following code, the script should read tags from the file's comments
instead of from a dialog:
tell application Finder to set theComments to comment of theFile
set
Did a clean install. Turned on Mac syncing on the clean machine to
Every Hour (same on older machines).
Waited. Nothing. Waited. Nothing. Then... it worked. 100% good. So
maybe give it a little time if you're having syncing issues.
