the angle brackets on a new line to eliminate whitespace (newlines are
whitespace too!):

If you used an input tag, the same applies, but now to whitespace between
the quotes of the value attribute.

Reply to self: in the zope3 list the answer to the above question has
been found; it was Yes.

configured to run under the same domain name as your Zope install, it
gets to see the cookies Zope set as well, and evidently it cannot deal
with unknown cookies.
