I've having a bit of a problem with doing an update world. When I do an
"emerge -NuD world" things chug along a bit then the build for help2man
fails, having a problem with "Locale::gettext". A Google search mentions
using perl-cleaner. I run perl-cleaner and

So it's done and I
I am reinstalling gentoo on a Dell inspiron 6400 laptop
I am (again) using lvm2.
I just built the kernel and then (following the lvm2 guide) tried
emerge lvm2
This required a build of help2man, which failed with

Hello,
I'm having difficulty with a perl module. I have recently installed

the archives and had a bit of a fiddle. So to recap:
1) Did an "emerge --sync" this morning.

3) help2man was next up. During t

If you have gentoolkit installed, you can use the equery command to find
out what a package depends on:

A couple of packages in this OpenRC upgrade aren't building. I hope
they are less important. So far groff and help2man have failed so I
did --resume --skip-first and moved on for now.
If I get to the end, do the hand edits and manage to reboot then I'll
do an emerge -e @system just to make sure things are really OK before
dealing with @world.

I updated my PC today, and there was a lot of KDE-related packages being
updated.
As part of my usual update procedure I depclean'ed and ran
revdep-rebuild.sh - and it wants to rebuild every single package on my
system? Surely that has to be some kind of mistake?
Anyone have any insight?
