Oracle HA on Linux: New solutions for highly available, simply managed database applications
WHEN: December 2, 2004 @ 12pm EST (1700 GMT)
SPEAKER: Michael Callahan, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, PolyServe, Inc.
SPONSOR :   PolyServe, Inc.

ABOUT THE WEBCAST:
Attend this Webcast, and learn how you can:
  • Reduce Oracle cluster and configuration management by up to 75 percent
  • Reduce back-up times and complexity by up to 80 percent
  • Consolidate Oracle databases onto fewer servers
  • Leverage the volume economics of industry-standard Linux servers and storage
While research shows Oracle users' primary interest in database clusters is for high availability, current HA technologies increase complexity and risks of operator error that result in missed service level agreements and failed deployments.

Michael will present an emerging solution that uniquely removes the limitations of traditional clustering. New innovations in cluster file system and HA technology enable fault-tolerant Linux server and storage clusters that prevent costly downtime of mission-critical database applications - a crucial requirement for data centers weighing the move from UNIX to Linux. Learn how this new technology eliminates single points of failure and streamlines server and storage management of the Oracle Linux environment. And discover the advantages of:

  • Assured high availability
  • N+1 failover capability
  • Easy migration to Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
  • Shared Oracle Home
  • Cluster stats
  • Single, centralized backup and more
