MICROSOFT'S IM: NECESSARY OR KNEE-JERK? | SearchWindows2000.com
AOL did it, Yahoo did it, now Microsoft has done it -- the corporate
ping thing. This week Redmond unveiled MSN Messenger Connect for
Enterprises, a corporate IM tool. But wait, isn't enterprise IM
Greenwich's business? Why come out with this now? MS might think
you're itching for corporate IM ASAP, but some analysts and users

MCAFEE'S GROUPSHIELD TO SUPPORT DOMINO | Network World
Among the new gateways designed to frisk incoming e-mail for viruses,
inappropriate content, or spam, is a Domino-supported version of
McAfee's GroupShield that sells for about $31 for 251 to 500 users.

OFFICE ALTERNATIVES TO MICROSOFT STAND OUT | Seattle Times
Microsoft Word may be the dominant word-processing application, but
by many accounts WordPerfect and WordPro are more adept at handling
large documents. And, while IBM has stopped adding features to it,
Lotus SmartSuite is still available and offers a first-class personal
information manager.

THE MISSING LINK | Out of the Loop: The code name game

Oh, those Microsoft code names! From Avalon to Whistler, from Mercury
to Jupiter and from Cairo to Memphis -- the code name game is really
a mind game if you think about it. But Gates and the gang could get a
little more creative.
