TRUE DOMINO BLOOPER #22: TELL IT LIKE IT IS | SearchDomino.com

This Domino project leader got him self in a pickle when the mail
storage monitoring project that his team was working on told users in
no uncertain terms what to do with their overstuffed inboxes. As it
turns out, not everyone likes barking dialog boxes, and some were
howling for our hero's head.

FOUR QUICKPLACE PLACETYPES AVAILABLE | Lotus Advisor
Four example QuickPlace PlaceTypes that were demonstrated at
Lotusphere 2003 last month are now available from the Lotus Developer
Domain Sandbox. The PlaceTypes -- functional example applications
built with QuickPlace customization techniques -- are designed for
four different industries: e-government, financial services, life
sciences and manufacturing.

GLUT OF E-MAIL COULD MEAN STORAGE SPACE RACE | SearchWin2000.com
Keeping track of your company's e-mail is an important business. Just
ask the people at WorldCom and Enron. If you can't shred it, you have
to store it, and with the number of corporate e-mails expected to hit
60 billion within three years, finding storage space could be your
next headache.

SURVEY SAYS MANY IN FAVOR OF CANNING SPAM | CRN
Polling group Public Opinion Strategies has found that an impressive
88% of 1,400 people surveyed said they support anti-spam legislation,
especially to curb the proliferation of pornography. SurfControl, a
London-based spam filtering company, commissioned the survey.

DELL ENDS PURCHASING DEAL WITH IBM | eWEEK
Dell has ended a seven-year, $16 billion contract to buy hardware
components from IBM, and is cutting back on a separate $6 billion
services deal. The three-year-old deals called for Dell to buy
everything from disk drives and chips to flat-panel monitors, but IBM
has recently sold several of the business units that made these
components.

THE MISSING LINK | Political tensions eating into cheese biz

Keep your Camembert! Forget your "fromage." Viva Velveeta! Those are
the sentiments an e-cheese exporter in France has been seeing from
U.S. customers. Marc Refabert, the big cheese at Fromages.com, says
his brie is in a bind because customers on the other side of the
Atlantic are unhappy that France does not support Washington when it
comes to Iraq. Customers are saying they just can't support France in
any way -- so please, no cheese. Refabert said he understands that
American customers are just being patriotic, and he thinks they'll be
back soon -- because French cheese is too tasty.
