Domino migrations up as server support fades
[vnunet]
One industry expert says the number of upgrades from Domino R5 to version 6.5 is increasing, but even though it's an easier transition than the one faced by companies upgrading Microsoft technology, users face some trepidation with the emergence of IBM's Workplace platform.

Startup banks on Java hardware boost

ADVICE:  Ask Scott Lemieux: User rights for Domino docs in SAP
Dear Scott: We have to transfer Domino documents to the SAP records management. One approach could be to replicate the main records to Domino via LEI and the SAP connector to have a selection view popup to assign the document to the appropriate record. How do you deal with the user rights on this? Does the current user (in Notes client) have the right to put a document under the selected record?

The Missing Link

Can you hear me now? Cheers!
[The Register]
Raise your glass to technology -- it's really raising the bar. Several London establishments are now part of a service wherein you log onto a Web site (www.buymeabeer.com), pick a libation, enter a friend's cell phone number and a personal message, and then prepay the tab. The recipient of your generosity then goes to one of the participating pubs and shows the text message -- then voila -- a free drink. This toast of technology and "ale" of an idea is a good way to buy your buddy a Bud without having to actually move out of your chair.
