Help desk application for Lotus Notes/Domino

GWI Software, based in Vancouver, Wash., announced the release of c.Support 2005 for IBM Lotus Notes/Domino, a help desk support system built for the Lotus Notes/Domino platform and the Web. According to GWI, the software allows organizations to track and manage everyday support activities as well as more complex support interactions involving several people or departments. New features include asset tracking, knowledge management and customer self-support.

Users of c.Support 2005 have the ability to set up an unlimited number of desktop interfaces for end users in different customer groups, and the application has the ability to search incoming customer e-mail and respond with links to potentially useful information.

Accelerate the adoption of IBM Workplace

Trilog Group, based in Woburn, Mass., is offering consulting and training services to companies looking to help developers move from the IBM Lotus Notes and Domino platforms to IBM Workplace. Custom IBM Workplace development services are also available. Trilog also launched two ready-to-run Workplaces: Project Management Workplace and Expense Management Workplace, implementing collaborative capabilities necessary for distributed and outsourced projects.

Series 60 Platform gets enterprise ready

San Jose, Calif.-based Intellisync Corporation announced that it will bring its Intellisync Mobile Suite software to the Series 60 Platform for smart phones. The release will offer wireless push e-mail and file synchronization for Series 60-based smart phones. The suite will allow users of Lotus Domino to synchronize calendar, contacts and tasks.

In addition, IT will be able to manage the mobile devices from a central console and automatically deploy and update mobile software over a network, configure devices on an individual and group basis, inventory mobile devices and software assets, back up and restore device data and utilize theft/loss control features.

Lotus Notes and Workplace get VoIP software

Swiss company iscoord announced e-phone for both IBM Lotus Notes and IBM Workplace. The application can manage all telephone related functions and is implemented within the Lotus Notes or Workplace environment. Employees are accessible through PC/laptops and personal phone numbers even while working remotely. The application provides detailed call logs and reports, creates tasks according to telephone conversations and uses all telephony-specific functions like voice mail and music while waiting.

Administer Lotus Domino and IBM Lotus Notes clients without classroom

The Learning Continuum Company, based in Boca Raton, Fla., is offering a new line of distance learning courses for IBM Lotus Domino administrators. Notes Domino 6 System Administration 1 and 2 will bring administrators up to speed on Lotus Domino 6 and 6/5 setup and administration features, and prepare students for the IBM Certified System Administrator -- Lotus Notes and Domino certification exams. Courses can be downloaded to a home or office computer.

Notes Domino 6 System Administration 1 covers how to install and set up the Lotus Domino server and the Lotus Notes clients; how to use the Lotus Domino Administrator client; how Lotus Domino security works; how to configure mail routing; and special tips and tricks to troubleshoot mail routing and replication issues.

Notes Domino 6 System Administration 2 covers advanced topics including mail routing between different domains; preventing spam; user management; roaming user setup; how to monitor Lotus Domino servers; how to manage mail delivery; the CA process for certification; administering Lotus Domino from a Web browser; and setting up secondary directories.

E-mail compliance system gains functionality

ZipLip, Inc., based in Santa Clara, Calif., announced Version 5.0 of its Unified E-Mail Archival Suite, adding features and functionality for full compliance with requirements from the SEC, NASD, Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and other regulatory bodies. The new version enables concurrent archiving from Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange systems. The product combines e-mail compliance, legal discovery, e-mail storage offloading and e-mail knowledge management capabilities in a single system.

DocPublisher for IBM Lotus Domino

Croatian company SWING Software announced the release of SWING DocPublisher, content publishing software for IBM Lotus Domino. SWING DocPublisher simplifies publishing of Office documents to corporate intranets and Web sites. It enables business users to distribute and maintain internal documentation, such as policies and procedures manuals, training materials and knowledge bases. The software works out-of-the-box and does not require training and implementation costs, according to the company.

Features include: an online document library for MS Word documents; instant online publishing; consistency through document templates; online documentation that includes files in their native formats; e-mail notifications on document expiration and the ability to collect user feedback.
