I am using NIS to authenticate, and I want to create a home
directory/symlink the first time that someone logs in to the machine. I
only set up one home directory in /home (/home/user1), but when user2 logs
in to that machine, there is no /home directory. Is there any way to get
the login script to check for the existence of a /home directory, and if it
doesn't exist, create one or create a symlink to an automounted home
directory (i.e. /rhome/user2)?

Thanks,

Forrest
