Interesting. Linking used to work; it still works on our sites, I think. Maybe
file a bug to SRF if this persists.

Note that there is a feature to get the query string (not including
options/printouts) from a query object. This is potentially useful for
normalizing/wiki formatting/simplifying the query string (but maybe you can
just use the input string directly). Just make sure that you do not generate
syntax snippets like "[[" anywhere in your code.
