Hi all,

The release date of 4.4 is (un-)officially November 19th, 2007

That means it can be downloaded since today:
http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=4717e2a2

The documentation for this version can be found on the Sun Documentation website. The documentation can also be downloaded from filibeto.org .

More information wikis.sun.com and http://virtualdesktops.blogspot.com/

We are currently using

Sun Secure Global Desktop Software for SPARC Solaris 2.8+ (4.20.977)

and users complain that the desktop hangs quite often when moving windows around, popping up menus and the like. This happens when using an ADSL-line on the client side and a 2 MBit leased line on the server side.

Can anybody confirm, that the felt performance over lines with not so optimal latence times has essentially been optimized in newer versions of SGD? Is it worth to try a newer version in this regard?

Regards,

  Andreas
