OK -- I checked with my chiropractor.  What he recommends (and sells) is
Chelated Magnesium Oxide Gluconate, 133 mgs.  Dosage of 6 tablets per day until
pain disappears.  If a person is inclined to produce kidney stones, then they
should remain on a maintenance dose of 3 tablets per day.  The brand that he
sells is *dc* (doctor of chiropractic, I think) -- and a 90-tablet bottle runs
seven dollars.  An inexpensive solution to a miserable problem, for sure.  MA

Kidney stones can be dealt with by taking generous amounts of magnesium --
which softens the stones and allows them to pass easily and comfortably.  This
according to my chiropractor, when my 87-year-old Mom was dealing with them.
The urologist wanted her to have the ultra-sound process that blasts the stones
into smaller pieces.  It was not necessary -- she took the magnesium.  MA
