  The gatoraide impregnated into the plastic made some photo reactive compounds 
with the silver.
A 3 PPM difference isn't huge and PPM meters not exact nor is fresh CS very 
stable...and..the gen could be "leaking" a little power when off, electrodes 
not precisely in the same position, water level not exactly the same, various 
battery effects and stray reactions with whatever in the air like ammonium or 
carbon dioxide...any number of things.
