Pat -- it is exactly that vaporizing that is dangerous.  You know that you
cannot trust him in this matter exactly because of that comment.  What he
should
have said is that you will have an oxygen mask so that you're not breathing in
the vaporized mercury, and a dam in your mouth so that the mercury-contaminated
water can't be swallowed.
You would be very wise to find a dentist that understands the dangers involved
here, and who is prepared to protect you from them.  I drove two hours each way
to a dentist last year when I had my old failing silver fillings replaced.  I
found him on an internet search, because my regular dentist was about as
concerned as yours.

Try going to www.dentalwellness4u.com and see if they have a list of holistic
dentists.  If not, a Google search should bring them up.

I asked him if he could prevent the mercury he removes from entering my body
and
he said oh yes, and something about high speed drill and vaporizing, etc.  So
how are you supposed to know if you can trust the dentist you've used
successfully for 21 years or not.  And if there are 100 dentists in the area,
how would you know which one could do it better?

Pat

I also heard, years ago, that you should go to a dentist that specializes in
removing those
fillings. So that you do not become poisoned in the removal process. Any
dentist
can remove
them but not all dentists do it properly.
