Anyone know how to do this on a MAC OS?

Hi Connie, you might like to try this?

Creating Message Filters

You can create and maintain message filters
so that Messenger automatically matches
criteria you set, including filing messages in a
folder when they arrive.

To create a filter that handles incoming
messages:

1.In the Messenger window, choose
Message Filters from the Edit menu.

2.In the Message Filters dialog box, click
   New.

You see the Filter Rules dialog box,
where you enter information necessary to
   define the filter.

To edit a filter:

Select the filter name and click Edit.

To delete a filter:

Select the filter name and click Delete.

To turn a filter on or off:

Click the dot to the right of the filter name
to turn it on (checkmark), or click the
checkmark to turn it off (dot).

To change the order in which filters are
applied:

In the filter list, click a filter's name, and
click the up or down arrow to move it.

To log filter activity, which can help to debug
filtering:

Click the checkbox at Log Filter Use.

To display the filter log:

   Click View log.

If you have difficulty following all this, you might find it easier to
follow from the help menu (where I got all this from). Select help from the
help menu, click on Index and type filters in the search box.

Cheers, Roger

Hi Mike,
Here are steps to take to filter mail for Netscape 4.7 users.

Example: to automatically send all incoming email with CS> in the
subject line to a Mailbox called Silver List.

1 Create the Silver List mailbox in Local Mail.
1.1 In Netscape Messenger, Click on Local Mail in the left hand menu.
1.2 Right click and click on New Folder.
1.3 Type Silver List in the Name window. click OK

2 Instruct incoming email with CS> in the subject line to a Mailbox
called Silver List.
2.1 Click Edit in the upper menu and then click Message Filters.
2.2 Click New.
2.3 In the Filter Rule window, change the Filter name to SL, for
instance. Its your choice.
2.3 Type CS> in the blank window.
2.4 Scroll down the Move To folder to the Silver List entry. Click OK

That is it. You can make several filters to make your life easier.

To edit a filter go Edit/Message Filter/ select the filter to be edited
and click Edit. Make the changes in the Filter Rules panel and click OK.
