Summary: 3.0.1-4 is a mess

Initial Comment:
I'm not very fond of 3.0.1-4 right now. RH 7.3 systems.

1. getimage craps out after copying everything over
from the golden node when it can't find a file (see
the preceding bug.)

2. mkautoinstallscript created a completely useless
installation script. How useless you may ask?
Well, how about all the mount points were for
/dev/sda partitions when the nodes all only have
/dev/hda partiitions. The number of partitions
wasn't right either. The server does have /dev/sda
partitions though, and the broken startup script
seems to have matched the boot disk there
instead of the golden node.

After much monkeying around with the installation
script to get it to create and mount the right partitions
it finally got to the point where it looked like a copy
of the image was loaded on the test node. Except:

3. image installed by systemimager won't boot. It locks
at "freeing unused kernel memory" right
after doing and EXT3-fs recovery. Hmm,
come to think of it, I think that the golden
node was all ext2, where id the ext3 come from?
Got to check that tomorrow.

The golden node has no problems whatsoever
booting. I just rebooted it two minutes ago to be
sure. The test node is identical hardware
to the golden node.

Systemimager 3.0.1-4 just does not make a
functional copy of the golden node on the target
node. No way to tell now if the image is broken
or the download is broken, but something is.

Boy do I regret "upgrading" to this version!!!

David Mathog
