Daniel,

First, let me thank you for providing the wiki.sisuite.org service.

With regard to wiki.systemimager.org, I believe that the use of a wiki
is a very important tool for the SystemImager and SISuite user
community. And I believe that it is now appropriate that we migrate our
primary site (www.systemimager.org) to a wiki platform.

Why mediawiki?

With that in mind, I have been using mediawiki at Argonne in a
number of places with great success. We started with mediawiki,
tried other wiki systems, and ended up returning to mediawiki for a
number of reasons, including formatting capabilities (I really love
the 'code box' capability), general appearance, and perceived
    relative ease of use.

Why on the systemimager.uchicago.edu box?

This is a box on which we have full control, and it is dedicated to
SystemImager, SISuite, and related open source projects. It also
has very good bandwidth, and I expect to find it advantageous for us
to have our services consolodated on a single system (svn, download,
www, wiki, etc.). I also intend to install trac on this system at
    some point.

And one of my personal goals is to make our documentation come alive on
the wiki. There are many bits of it that have gone stagnant, as it's
only updated when the developers update it. And you know how developers
tend to be with updating documentation... Our users know so much about
how the tool is and can be used, and it would be very valuable to
capture that on the wiki mingled in, or shaped into the official
documentation in a wikiized format.

That being said, it may be a while yet before this all takes place, but
it would be really nice to have someone acting as a wiki administrator.
Someone to keep the wiki software up to date as security announcements
go out, help with the migration of content from www.systemimager.org and
wiki.sisuite.org, and perhaps even help with the installation and
maintenance of trac too.

Daniel, would you be willing to serve as our wiki and trac admin?

Thanks, -Brian
