exactly!  I had indeed commented out the code in SC that did this (or I 
thought I did) in the device_map subrouting and then where if calles 
grub-install --recheck, but I guess that wasn't enough.  and I'm tooooo 
tired to dig any deeper.  hey - it's my day off!  and even adrea is 
taking time off to watch the world cup.  looks like a real nail biter...
