Hello All, New to the group and new to System Imager. I've been reviewing all the traffic that Mark S. has generated about using System Imager with HP Smart Array controllers (In my case a DL380) but am still a tad confused as to what was the final consensus for making the image work.
At the preset time when I leave the system configurator statements in place at the end of My_Image.master I receive the following errors: Probing devices to guess BIOS drives. This may take a long time. df: Warning: cannot read table of mounted filesystems df: Warning: cannot read table of mounted filesystems Could not find device for /boot: Not found or not a block device. Probing devices to guess BIOS drves. This may take a long time. Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/lib/systemconfig/Boot/Grub.pm line 160. Use of uninitialized value in substitution (s///) at /usr/lib/systemconfig/Boot/Grub.pm line 164. Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/lib/systemconfig/Boot/Grub.pm line 235. Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/lib/systemconfig/Boot/Grub.pm line 237. Probing devices to guess BIOS drives. This may take a long time. umount /a/proc || shellout umount /a/local_data || shellout umount /a/boot || shellout umount /a/ || shellout Begin reboot me statements. Reviewing the previous posts leads me to believe that this problem was identified quite some time ago and that their is a work around out there someplace. I have edited the My_Image.master file to dump out before System Configurator is called, but am not sure how to manually force Grub to install properly. A df of the file system run upon dump out shows: /dev/cciss/disc0/part2 /a /dev/cciss/disc0/part1 /a/boot /dev/cciss/disc0/part5 /a/local_data Which I know should read: /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 /a /dev/cciss/c0d0p0 /a/boot /dev/cciss/c0d0p4 /a/local_data But I'm not sure how to change either the autoinstallation scripts or the .master file to reflect the desired /dev/cciss/c0d0pX statements. Mark's postings talked about producing .diff files for the necessary changes, however since I was not on the list at the time I can only review those in RAW format and when I cut and paste those into a .diff file Patch throws some Hunk errors amd "malformed patch" errors on the Grub.pm and Label.pm files respectively. Also I'm not sure how to patch the grub-install file if that indeed is the problem.
