Has anyone successfully gotten a 2.6.9 kernel to boot on an IA64 box using
3.5.2-1
kernel panic due to "cannot open root device "ram" may be due to
root=/dev/ram in elilo.conf file
image=kernel
label=reseau
initrd=initrd.img
root=/dev/ram
read-only
IP: routing cache hash table of 16384 buckets, 256Kbytes
TCP: Hash tables configured (established 131072 bind 65536)
NET: Registered protocol family 1
NET: Registered protocol family 17
VFS: Cannot open root device "ram" or unknown-block(1,0)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(1,0)
root=/dev/ram is not correct ?
Any/all suggestions welcome. Stephen ?
Thanks a lot in advance
Thierry
