Title: [Sisuite-users] kernel BUG at include/linux/i2o.h:517!
Hi Charles:

I believe si_prepareclient uses the OS' kernel and generate a compatible initrd.img based on your system.

Have you tried using the stock kernel/initrd.img which came with SystemImager's boot-standard package to tftpboot?  That might actually work better.

The modules.dep message can be ignored, it never interferred with successful imaging of a system - we'll see about fixing that in the future.

If that doesn't work, I recommend you try a newer version of SystemImager, eg. 3.6.2 or the code in branches/3.6.x.

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Sisuite-users] kernel BUG at include/linux/i2o.h:517!

Hi guys

I get a kernel panic with the above error on this box I am trying to
image today using the stock 3.5.3 systemimager kernel . Anyone have any
solution?

I'm still struggling to get setup with a kernel that supports my
hardware. I do indeed have a kernel that works on this hardware, and
have used si_prepareclient to create a boot kernel and initrd.img on a
server running this kernel. On one server i am trying to image, it
wouldn't get an IP via dhcp (nic is a intel pro 1000 which i think is
pretty common and does work in production). On another server that it
did pxe boot off of, gave me an error saying it couldn't find the
/lib/modules/.../modules.dep file. Isn't this all bundles up in the
initrd.img?

thanks
charles
