Yes, I know about editing the file.  I run everything through diff after I run 
the script.  I did that originally, but I try to get it to generate stuff 
without hand edits because I may have to pass this on to someone else who 
doesn't want to be bothered with editing a file.  I also would hope that this 
is a temporary thing and that si_getimage will have some flag unknown to me 
that takes care of it.

Additionally, I forgot this one.  On RH enterprise 3, the 
/etc/sysconfig/network file ends up getting "000" appended to the FQDN and 
domain specifications so that .com become .com000.  I haven't figured out where 
that comes from either.  I just removed the host and domain and dhcp works fine 
after that.
