Our system config requires that the hostname is set to the short name 
rather than the FQDN, but SystemConfigurator puts the FQDN 
in /etc/sysconfig/network :-( 

I currently fix that in my post-install script. I prefer to not modify the 
master script if possible.

Is there a standard way to do that?

Is there a reason we should use FQDN?

Is this just a reverse name-lookup issue and fixable in the DNS server?
