Thanks for the tip. I had searched in the archives, but I didn't find this one. I'm using 3.7.3-1 so I will try to upgrade at some point to 3.7.4. In any case, I solved the problem by reinstalling GRUB by following the instructions at the end of http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4-Manual/sysadmin-guide/s1-rescuemode-boot.html but I hope that it is solved with 3.7.4. Having to reinstall GRUB in a couple of nodes everytime we have to reboot the machine is no fun...
