My co-worker has made some progress by compiling systemimager from
source, and making a kernel and initrd.img on an Ubuntu machine. We've
started imaging a machine, and it's started to rsync everything over.
If anybody else is interested, you can temporarily get the files
(kernel, initrd.img, and boel_binaries.tar.gz) at:
http://students.cs.byu.edu/~javert42/no_warranty.tar.gz

Good luck,
