Hi, all. I have spent 2 days trying to get this set up to work but still failed.
The first time, I did not use kernel and initrd.img from my golden client and just use the default. My cloning client booted up and went until trying to get IP from DHCP server the second time, however, it appeared to not able to bring up my Intel ethernet cards (e1000). I think this stage already passed pxe/syslinux and was in the systemimager starting stage. I then found out that I could use my golden client's kernel and initrd.img so I replaced the default with these. My cloning client booted up and continued up to partitioning the hard disks. My 2 hard disks were software raid 1 + LVM SATA. For some reasons it appeared not to be able to load the LVM dm-mod and related files, and at the command line, I did lsmod and all of my hard wares' drivers were loaded (raid1, e1000, and etc) but no dm-mod. I specifically compiled the vanilla kernel to have LVM as a module and I actually looked into /usr/share/systemimager/boot/x86_64/CentOS4.4_2core2cpu_2.0GHz/initrd.img and found a directory my_modules to have dm-mod and dm-*. I really copy this file to /tftpboot because I actually looked at the file in /tftpboot so there is no way I forget to copy the files over /tftpboot. After compiling the kernel for like 10 times, I still failed to get it to pass through the disk partitions and the latest error including failed to locate/load /lib/modules/2.16.19/modules.dep and for some strange reasons all my hard disks are SATA but while the cloning stopped b/c of errors, I found out that it was trying to parted /dev/hda and /dev/hdb but my devices are /dev/sda and /dev/sdb. I looked into /etc/systemimager/autoinstallscript.conf and the devices are /dev/sda and /dev/sdb. Btw, my system does not have /etc/raidtab and uses /etc/mdadm. I went into machine's BIOS and make sure that I disable all PATA and only enable SATA but it tried to part / perform disk partition on /dev/hda and /dev/hdb with modules.dep not found where all the hard wares' drivers that are used in my golden client are already loaded with I lsmod at the command line on the cloning client. Please help as I am out of ideas and very frustrated for spending 2 days without any results.
