We're obviously talking about the same error because, yeah, you're describing it in more detail than I first did, and that detail matches up perfectly with my experience. However, I'm not using UYOK. I noticed something else interesting that may or may not have a bearing on the situation. The boot process seems to speed through very quickly, quicker than normal.... ACK! Ok, sorry, I had misentered the image server's IP address. Oops! It works great! Simón

Using 3.8.0 on both server and clients. The image clients spit this out immediately after the boel_binaries tarball is retrieved. All subsequent commands fail (for example, if i type "reboot", it says it can't run /sbin/reboot without GLIBC_2.4). I noticed this with two different boxes using UYOK. Both are running ubuntu 6.10 edgy. For one of the boxes I was able to use the standard i386 boot kernel/initrd.img, but the other one (an IBM x336) won't work with the standard because it doesn't recognize the scsi disks. I'm sure there's another (better?) way, but I actually ended up installing another OS on the box just so I could generate a kernel/initrd.img that would work.
