hi andrea, thanks for the fast response. i just gave it a try and "downgraded" just the boot and initrd (didn't know where the rsync and kernel actually are / the 3.8.2-1 version worked for me and i still had the rpms around) so with rpm -Uhv --oldpackages i reinstalled systemimager-i386boot-standard-3.8.2-1.noarch.rpm systemimager-i386initrd_template-3.8.2-1.noarch.rpm
i did si_getimage and si_mkclientnetboot again and it works for me now. since the cluster is now up and running and the boys are running calculations already, i will try the rsync3.0.0pre4 version as soon as anything needs to be updated. thanks again! greetings rochus > Andrea Righi wrote: > > In the while I'll start thinking to a smart solution to resolve (maybe > > updating rsync to the 3.0.0pre4 pre-release into the SystemImager > > initrd.img, that doesn't seem to correctly handle this problem)... > > Here are the new boot-standard RPMs with rsync 3.0.0pre4: > > http://download.systemimager.org/~arighi/systemimager/systemimager-i386boot-standard-4.0.1.svn4333arighi-1.noarch.rpm > http://download.systemimager.org/~arighi/systemimager/systemimager-x86_64boot-standard-4.0.1.svn4333arighi-1.noarch.rpm > > You can try to check if this resolves, just install one of them (or both, > depending on the architectures of your clients). > > -Andrea -- Dr. Rochus Schmid Lehrstuhl für Anorganische Chemie II Organometallics and Materials Chemistry Ruhr-Universität Bochum D-44780 Bochum Tel.: ++49(234) 32 24166 Fax: ++49(234) 32 14174 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.rub.de/aci2/schmid ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
