I hope someone can give me a clue.
I am trying to image a Dell Poweredge 1950 running RedHat 4, 64bit
kernel. SI version is 4.0.0-1.
My image server is almost identical - slightly older RedHat 4 install.
I have updated syslinux to 3.53-1.
Everything looked good until I tried to boot the autoinstall CD. After
initrd startup, partway through the boot, the kernel paniced
Only the last screenful of console messages are available because the
boot message scroll by in a blur.
There was what appears to be a part of the kernel stack dump which
contained "Process: default.hotplug", a register dump, and "Kernel
Panic - not syncing! OOPS"
The system's hardware raid controller (PERC 5I) is used to mirror the
two, 300GB SAS disks.
All mounted file systems, except boot are LVM volumes.
This is a Dell factory install updated on 27-Nov with the most recent
RedHat patches.
Thanks,
Tim Mahaney
