Incidentally, this worked, but only when my image name was too long for
Lilo not to try and take over first.  I've been able to get things
working properly with 3.8.1 which doesn't require configurator 2.2.11,
so once we get through this install push, I'll go back to working with
4.0.2 to see if we can narrow things down.

Adding a section like the following in
/etc/systemconfig/systemconfig.conf should work (untested):

[BOOT]
PREFERED=Boot::Grub

See man 5 systemconfig.conf.
