SystemImager already supports installation over IB and, in principle, it doesn't need any modification. With "over IB" I mean IPoIB. Unfortunately I was not able to perform an IB installation yet, so feedbacks for this topic are really welcome! There are only few requirements: - the image server must be in the same IB fabric of the clients (must have a ib* interface with an IP assigned in the same subnet of the imaging clients). - clients can use DHCP to setup the IB interface (in this case you need to configure a DHCP server to anwer requests on the IB interface) or alternatively they can be configured via installation parameters (http://wiki.systemimager.org/index.php/Installation_Parameters#Kernel_boot_parameters). In particular you could also enforce the imaging over IB setting DEVICE=ib0 (for example). Anyway with many clients the dhcp approach is suggested. That's it. No additional requirement, except using the default BOEL kernel or a UYOK kernel with infiniband support. Keep us updated if you have a chance to perform a test Tom, I'm very interested in it, and also feel free to ask for help or support. -Andrea ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
