I'm trying to configure systemimager on my server and a few client
machines. I'm having problems restoring the image back to the client. I
will first list the version of systemimager OS system type etc. etc then
pose my question at the end. I will so give some limitation to my
environment which include network, security etc.

Server:
Hardware: Hewlett Packard DL380
O/S: RedHat Enterprise linux AS version3
Kernel: 2.4.21-4.EL
Systemimager: 4.0.0.1

I'm not permitted to configure DHCP on my server do to security issues
here at my facility.

Clients:
Hardware: Dell PowerEdge 6650
O/S: RedHat Enterprise linux
Kernel: 2.4.21.-15.0.3.EL
Systemimager: 4.0.01

Client limitations are they have old BOIS and do not have USB booting
capabilities. I have created an ISO CD as alternative.

SECCUSSES:

Client: # si_prepareclient --server 192.200.82.xxx
Server: # si_getimage -ip-assignment REPLICANT -golden-client
129.200.82.xxx ....

PROBLEMS:

The only way I can get the bootable CD to work is to have a formatted
and labeled disk drive installed. Otherwise I get the following error

Cannot open root device "raw" or unknown-block (1,0)
please append a correct "root=" boot option
kernek panic: VFS unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(1,0)
<6> LKCD not yet configured can't take dump

QUESTION:

I have read "HOWTO raw-disk cloning with SystemImager" but this document
assumes pxe and DHCP. Is where anyway to raw-disk clone from a bootable
CD??
