I think the problem is now fairly minor. At least now when the new server reboots after imaging it doesn't have a duplicate ip address (which kills the web server on the golden client) and the ip address is the one I'm expecting so I can ssh on to it and fix the problem. If I fix the problem with the post-install scripts I'll let you know. Thanks again for all your help.
