Folks,
I'm running systemimager 4.0.2 on an x86 (32bit) platform. I have
rolled my own kernel (we have several devices that require specific
modules - and I want to query them during the imaging sequence), and
it's 2.6.28 non-smp. These systems are all PXE booting/netboot and
using rsync to obtain images.
I see a couple significant (1 minute or so) delays during boot - and
I wanted to see if someone could help identify the causes (or point me
in the right direction to troubleshoot the causes!).
First Delay:
- during boot immediately after: "isapnp" loads. Take a look at the
boot time output below:
12.479168] io scheduler deadline registered (default)
[ 17.990982] pci 0000:00:0a.1: EHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS
bug?)
01010001
[ 17.992159] isapnp: ISA Plug & Play support disabled
[ 124.160006] Serial: 8250/16550 driver2 ports, IRQ sharing
enabled
[ 124.329010] serial8250: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a
16550A
[ 124.563013] serial8250: ttyS1 at I/O 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a
16550A
My first inclination is that it's actually the serial probe that's
taking forever. I do not see this delay with my own kernel and my own
image - just with systemimager booting.
