Hello,
I hope someone cam point me in the correct direction so that I can get system
imager up and running. I have the following case:
Image Server:
OS:
openSUSE 10.2 (i586)
System Imager SW:
systemconfigurator-2.2.11-1
systemimager-i386boot-standard-4.0.2-1
systemimager-server-4.0.2-1
systemimager-common-4.0.2-1
systemimager-i386initrd_template-4.0.2-1
Golden Client:
OS:
openSUSE 11.3 (i586)
System Imager SW:
systemconfigurator-2.2.11-1.noarch
systemimager-client-4.0.2-1.noarch
systemimager-common-4.0.2-1.noarch
systemimager-i386initrd_template-4.0.2-1.noarch
All the SW installed without reporting errors.
On the Golden Client I issued the following command:
si_prepareclient --server XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
without any errors.
On the Image server, I issued:
si_getimage -golden-client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -image Node1 -ip-assignment
static
and it pulled the image over to the server from the client without any errors.
After issuing the commands si_addclients and si_mkbootserver, I created an
install CD, si_mkautoinstallcd, and burned it to a
CD.
I then boot a new system using this CD, and it goes and finds the 'Image
Server', formats that disk, and transfers the Node1
image from the image server to this new machine. At this point I get the
following error,
ROOTDEV /dev/sda2 under [BOOT] does not exist, check your
systemconfigurator config
WARNING: systemconfigurator was not found in the image Node1
I have looked at some previous posts detailing this, but I am not too sure as
the correct course of action to correct this. On
the new machine I know that the /dev/sda2 is present as I saw it created prior
to the image being installed from the miage
server. This is the contents of the file /etc/systemconfig/systemconfig.conf on
the Golden client,
[BOOT]
ROOTDEV = /dev/sda2
BOOTDEV = /dev/sda
DEFAULTBOOT = systemimager
[KERNEL0]
LABEL = systemimager
PATH = /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.34-12-default
INITRD = /boot/initrd-2.6.34-12-default
APPEND = root=/dev/sda2 resume=/dev/sda1 splash=silent quiet vga=0x317
I apologise for the length of the email. Any suggestions, hints will be greatly
appreciated, regards
Peter
