OK. It is already clearer, although I would prefer some of the info more
"up front". I shall be happy to help, if we get it working.

I have decided to give SALI yet another spin to see if I can sort it out.

So far, the following seems clear:
  1. SALI is builds on top of systemimager/systemconfigurator (from now
just "si-suite").
  2. SALI provides costumized kernel and initrd, which includes commands
which can be used for the installation process. These two are used for
the initial install boot - and replaces the si_suite kernel&initrd (with
or without UYOK).
  3. SALI provides a sample installation script, which replaces the one
generated by si-suite (si_getimage).

Please correct me if I am wrong, but that is basically it. I need
updated kernel/initrd and an updated script. Plus, updated
pxelinux.cfg/<HEXIP> script to select the correct SALI kernel.

Do you have "automagic" ways to generate/update the installation script
and the pxelinux.cfg/<HEXIP> files? Something like the scripts/commands
from si-suite - or even simpler?
