Ian, I think I've figured out what the problem is. The postgresql-devel package with opensuse 10.3 has /usr/lib/libpgport.a . The postgresql-devel with Opensuse 11 doesn't have /usr/lib/libpgport.a . Perhaps I should be complaining elsewhere :-)
