My first sailplane was a 2 m polyhedral floater called an "EyeSoar". Of course, by the time it completed its first 'obligatory' hand toss it looked like one. The nose immediately got shorter by about a quarter-inch after a newbie zoom and stall (no one to help me). But it eventually flew great until it met an untimely death in a moving truck.
