Have you tried doing download of zyx-liveinstaller?
It should install sugar strawberry to a hard disk or USB/SD if you boot
from a burned CD of Strawberry.iso and then do download of
zyx-liveinstaller from the filteredperception web site
(but I have not tested it on strawberry)

I tryed downloading the latest version of the activity, it appears to
install correctly, but it doesn't start either
any ideas on how to diagnose better the error?
Unfortunately even if this problem(with blobs) will be fixed,
Record won't start in 0.86 properly. I'm going to rewrite Record from
scratch to have more robust UI and gst scheme but I'm stuck to
gst-plugin's(I want to use) development process. I'm tracking this
issue
and will bump new Record when upstream issues will be solved.
hmm.. just found that Record is marked on ASLO as 0.86 compartible
thats not right and dunno I've managed to do this mark.
(fixed now)
and second hmm.. looks like a regression from applying sugar theme(thats
a shame), ASLO doesn't warn users who are downloading incompatible
versions.. trying to fix
