AFAIK, it is general issue with git repositories at SF.net. SF.net is working on new version of their platform, so they provide now classic (currently used by SOCI) and old version of the system. And, AFAIK, only new projects choosing new SF.net system can operate over http(s). If anybody knows how to solve it with SF.net, let me know.
