Good, I've set MySQL 5.x as requirement in master docs. >> http://soci.sourceforge.net/doc/backends/mysql.html >> >> If we want to issue bugfix release for SOCI 3.x then I need to list >> minor/non-intrusive and API-compatible fixes only. >> All other major changes would be released in SOCI 4.x. >> >> Alternatively, we don't bother with bugfix releases for SOCI 3.x >> and the current master will become SOCI 4.0.0. > > This sounds appealing for its simplicity I admit. I agree. I'm convinced to make SOCI 4.0.0 a next release, tagged, and perhaps supported with bugfix branch in case it's needed in future. I'm not going to maintain bugfix releases, for any of the SOCI 3.x releases, thus no corresponding branches shall be maintained. Unless, there is someone who needs or wants to do it. Meanwhile, we develop in master. If needed in future, it will always be possible to merge selection of fixes back to bugfix-4.0.0 branch and issue bugfix release for SOCI 4.0.0. It seems we've decided.
