Sorry I should have been clearer that I
wanted to get the vertex position off the actual render hairs
(which appears can only be done with c++ and the
GetRenderHairAccessor function).
So I'll try acheive a similar effect by getting the guide hairs with the "activeprimitive.geometry.points.positionarray" Alok mentioned (which wasn't off at all ;) and the code from Stephen's Link looks very useful for this purpose.
