an I7 3930 with a Geforce GTX 960 with 2048 MB, but I'd go for more
memory on the card if possible.

Octane is a nice addition. Some scenes I tested that took forever

I have the Octane experience only from the videos and the demo.
It seems to me that it is like Maxwell but a lot faster.
