its ".ray3hosts" Sorry, I misspelled it. But as said, you can also use the "User Tools" (Startmenue/Autodesk/SoftimageXXXX/User Tools) and edit it from there. If there is no ray3hosts file, well then it is probably not the cause of the delay anyway. :)
