I had a huge amount of difficulty last weekend in exporting animated models 
from blender.  Some models seemed to work, others were only slightly off, but 
most came out with completely mangled animations.

The trouble turned out to be that blender provides bone roll values in 
degrees, while the python trig. functions work in radians.  I don't know if 
this is a change from previous versions of blender; I'm using 2.41.

I've attached a fixed version of the script that seems to work so far.
