I know this is easier said then done but I know lots opensource products support many different types of databases. Mainly I believe because everything is implemented on the java side using JPA/Hibernate. Switching between databases would be a matter of switching the Hibernate dialect in a config file. It would be awesome if we could get to something like that but I know there are so many stored procedures that are currently in place and oracle specific pieces.
