Dear all,

Upcoming Saturday 21 September IMPAKT <http://impakt.nl> (Utrecht, NL) will
host an Event with media theorist Douglas
Rushkoff<http://impakt.nl/nl/headquarters/events-headquarters/upcoming-events/impakt-event-douglas-rushkoff/>
on his latest book Team Human.

In Team Human (2019) American media critic Douglas Rushkoff exposes in 100
aphoristic statements how forces for human connection have turned into ones of
isolation and repression. How do we keep our humanity in a world full of social
media, algorithms and robots? Once we believed technology, free trade and the
internet would free us and bring us together. Though created by humans, our
technologies, markets, and institutions often contain an antihuman agenda. In
Team Human Rushkoff exposes the dynamics of this antihuman machinery, where
social media are constantly influencing our political views and preferences,
algorithms control our attention and robots slowly take over our jobs. But it’s
not too late! Rushkoff calls on us to join Team Human. Through biology,
psychology and human evolution Rushkoff shows that by uniting and working
together we can control the forces of technology and build a better connected
world.
