UNIVERSITY OF SASKATCHEWAN COLLEGE OF KINESIOLOGY FACULTY POSITION IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, FITNESS & HEALTH
Applications are invited for a tenure track appointment in physical activity and health. The College of Kinesiology has a full time faculty complement of 20 and offers a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology (B.Sc. (Kin.)) as well as a graduate program at the MSc and PhD levels. Current enrolment consists of approximately 430 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students. The College is committed to the scholarship of discovering, preserving, teaching, and applying knowledge as it pertains to human movement, active living and healthy lifestyles. Physical activity and health is a central focus of our research faculty. We have a history of interdisciplinary research both within the College and with other disciplines across the university QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Ph.D. and a demonstrated commitment to the teacher-scholar model. Post-doctoral training is an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in physical activity and health in one or more of the following areas: epidemiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning/control, growth and development. DUTIES: Duties include the development of a strong research program in physical activity and health. The ability to work with an interdisciplinary team on research involving the interplay of physiological and psychosocial factors as they relate to physical activity, physical fitness and health is a definite asset. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise graduate students and to be competent in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level. SALARY AND RANK: This position is advertised at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications (range $45,156 to $77,820 per annum).
