OPEN-RANK FACULTY POSITION – EXERCISE SCIENCE – THE UNIVERSITY
OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education, within the College
of Education, at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications
for a full-time (9 month) tenure-track faculty position in any rank from
Assistant to Full Professor.  Applicants should hold a Doctoral degree
with relevant postdoctoral experience. All areas of interest with
respect to exercise physiology and related disciplines (e.g.,
neurophysiology, cardiovascular physiology, muscle physiology, genetics,
developmental biology, and metabolism) will be considered.
Responsibilities include maintaining a strong publication record,
currently having and/or establishing a nationally-recognized and funded
research program, supervising graduate students, and teaching at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants for Full Professor
positions should exhibit a current record of success in obtaining
external and federal grant funding. In addition to individual laboratory
space provided, the department also maintains core laboratories for
biochemical analyses, body composition, and exercise training
interventions, as well as environmental chambers and satellite animal
facilities. Competitive salary support and start-up funds will be
provided.

The Department is ranked #4 in the country, and the College of Education
is the #1 public College of Education.  The new Medical School to be
opened in 2016 offers the exciting opportunity for the selected
candidate to contribute to the emerging relationship between the
department and the medical school. Therefore, emphasis will be placed on
the ability of the candidate to form collaborations with the Medical
School, as well as with other faculty across the university.  Dell
Pediatric Research Institute, a new state-of-the-art clinical research
facility that is dedicated to advance understanding of childhood
disease, is another outstanding resource available to interested
candidates.
